Environmental Protection in the Trump Era is a collaboration between the Environmental Law Institute and the American Bar Association’s Civil Rights and Social Justice Section. The book covers the critical changes to the environmental protection landscape, tracking the Trump Administration’s actions since January 20, 2017. The publication is written for the interested public, not just attorneys, and is rooted in changes to laws, regulations, or agency practices.

To support the public discussion, the book is free to download. Individual chapters are also available for download:

The authors plan a new edition every 6 months. We welcome donations in support of further work on this project.

“As an environmental justice and civil rights lawyer who works with communities of color and low-income communities who have been historically excluded from environmental decisionmaking, the simple question of “What’s happening?” has become increasingly more difficult to answer under the Trump Administration. That’s why I was thrilled by the release of Environmental Protection in the Trump Era. The book sifts through all of the chaos and identifies what’s really going on.”

—Jeremy Orr, Esq., State Chairperson for Environmental & Climate Justice, Michigan State Conference NAACP
