Environmental Law Institute Congratulates Board Member Alexandra Dunn on her Appointment as U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Region 1 Administrator

November 2017

(Washington, DC):  The Environmental Law Institute (ELI) congratulates ELI Board Member Alexandra Dunn on her appointment as EPA Region 1 Administrator.  Alexandra has served as a member of the ELI Board of Directors since 2012.  Alexandra has improved and expanded ELI’s research, education, and publication programs and the organization at large as the Chair of the Research, Education and Publications Committee and as a member of the Board’s Executive Committee.

As the Executive Director and General Counsel for the Environmental Council of States (ECOS), a national nonprofit, nonpartisan organization committed to helping state agencies improve environment outcomes for Americans, Alexandra has been a driving force for new thinking on cooperative federalism and a core partner in ELI’s Macbeth Dialogues, a series devoted to close examination of cooperative federalism and options for optimizing government roles going forward.

As reported in EPA’s press release announcing Alexandra’s appointment, ELI President Scott Fulton stated, “I strongly support Alexandra Dunn’s appointment as Regional Administrator for EPA Region 1. She is a terrific talent and an extremely capable leader, with demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse array of stakeholders and interests. Her appointment makes for a great day for EPA and the good people of New England.”
