Enhancing the Resilience of Costal Wetlands in the Albemarle-Pamlico Region of North Carolina

Volume 30, Issue 6, Page 12
Summary

The Albemarle-Pamlico Sound is the second largest estuarine system in the coterminous United States. It encompasses over 9,000 miles of freshwater rivers and streams and over 1.5 million acres of brackish, estuarine waters, all home to a variety of animals and plants. Adapting to climate change therefore presents new challenges for federal, state, and private conservation managers working in the area.
