Staying on top of the legal and policy developments in the climate change arena is no small task. As a special service to our institutional members, the Environmental Law Institute provides a series of monthly conference calls with national experts on climate law and policy to keep you up to date and to answer your questions.

Topics addressed in this month's call:

  • State updates: CO, CA, NJ, ME
  • Federal litigation updates: 5th Cir. Decision in Comer, Supreme Court denial of cert in Kivalina
  • Status of lawsuits aimed at California's cap-and-trade program: Citizens Climate Lobby (offsets case), allowance auction cases (Chamber of Commerce, and Morning Star)
  • Shaheen-Portman Energy Efficiency Bill: will non-germane amendments sink its prospects?

Kyle W. Danish, Partner, Van Ness Feldman, LLP
Gabriel Pacyniak, Institute Associate, Climate Center, Georgetown University
