In-Lieu Fee Mitigation Training Webinar: Getting Started on an ILF Program

February 10, 2016

The In-Lieu Fee Mitigation Training Webinar Series is designed to help states, tribes, and local governments; conservation organizations; and other interested groups develop or refine rigorous in-lieu-fee programs that yield ecologically effective and sustainable compensatory mitigation. The series of webinars will focus on specific subjects, providing in-depth technical support on the topics of most interest to participants. The topics were chosen with the assistance of an Advisory Committee based on an assessment of the needs of states, tribes, and local governments and conservation organizations seeking approval for or overseeing the approval of statewide or regional in-lieu fee programs.

Getting Started on an ILF Program

As of January 2016, there were more than fifty approved in-lieu fee programs, and many more programs in development. For this webinar, Corps district staff and new ILF program operators will discuss the process of developing new ILF programs. Corps district staff will provide information on the program development process and the Corps’ expectations. Program administrators/operators will comment on the program development process from the operator’s perspective; and will provide recommendations for agencies and organizations in the process of developing new programs based on their recent experiences.
