Floodplain acquisitions, also known as floodplain buyouts, allow local governments to move residents in flood prone areas to more resilient locations, thus reducing the risk for future harm.
Our projects include:
- Developing floodplain acquisition community case studies in partnership with the University of North Carolina's Institute for the Environment.
- Developing strategies to maximize community benefits in floodplain buyouts in partnership with the University of North Carolina's Institute for the Environment.
