ELI's Database of State Indoor Air Quality Laws – Search Page

Including Laws Enacted through December 2019

The ELI Database of State IAQ Laws is an annual compilation of laws reflecting a wide range of state policy strategies to improve indoor air quality. The Database contains enacted state laws only, but does not include every state law that addresses indoor air quality. For more information about the types of IAQ laws and issues included in the Database and for links to other ELI materials, see our Database Main Page.

  • You can download a PDF of the Database by going to our Database Main Page.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR SEARCHING

  • State search: You may limit your search by selecting one or more states from the drop-down menu. If you select no states, the results will include documents from all states.
  • Key Topic search: You may limit your search by selecting up to three key topics — mold, radon, and/or schools — from the drop-down menu. If you select only one topic, your results will include only documents that address that topic; if you select multiple topics, the results will include documents that address any of the topics selected.
  • Keyword search: You may search the abstracts of policies included in the Database. Entering multiple words will yield policy abstracts with any of those words; to search for a specific phrase, use quotation marks around the phrase.

To select multiple items from a drop-down menu, hold down ‘CTRL’ while making your selections. You can also hold down 'CTRL' and click on a selected item in order to deselect it.
