ELI Welcomes Dave Rejeski to lead a new initiative on . . .

Dave Rejeski, Director of the Science and Technology Innovation Program at the Woodrow Wilson Center, will be joining ELI to launch a new focus area on technology, innovation and environmental law.  During his 16 years at the Woodrow Wilson Center, Dave has explored the public policy implications of a wide range of emerging technologies, from nanotechnology to synthetic biology and 3-D printing, as well as the use of technologies such as video games to increase public engagement in complex policy challenges (the latest game is at: http://www.fiscalship.org).  Before joining the Wilson Center, Dave worked at the Council on Environmental Quality, the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy and at EPA in the Office of Policy, Planning and Evaluation.  Dave is presently a Guest Researcher at the International Institute of Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) in Austria, a member of EPA’s National Advisory Council for Environmental Policy and Technology and a member of the new National Academies Committee exploring the future of biotechnology and opportunities to enhance the capabilities of the U.S. biotechnology regulatory system (http://nas-sites.org/biotech/), For over a decade, he has been a regular contributor to ELI’s Environmental Forum and has published in Science, Nature, Journal of Industrial Ecology, Environmental Science and Technology, and the MIT Technology Review.  Dave has Masters Degrees in Public Policy and Environmental Design from Harvard and Yale, and a Bachelor’s in Industrial Design from the Rhode Island School of Design. He will join ELI in September.
