Summary

The 2008 Farm Bill Conservation Title authorized $24 billion in program funding toward conservation. Of the Farm Bill programs, the Conservation Reserve Program provides some of the greatest benefits in reduced soil erosion, improved water and air quality, and created wildlife habitat. However, there is a clear need to have additional natural resource professionals who can work with farmers, ranchers, and landowners to maximize the benefits of these programs.
