Staying on top of the legal and policy developments in the PFAS arena is no small task. As a special service to our members, the Environmental Law Institute provides a series of webinars with authors of the PFAS Deskbook, James Pollack and Isabel Carey, and national experts on PFAS to keep you up to date, answer your questions, and highlight a unique topic related to PFAS during each session.

As a courtesy, ELI has made this installment of the PFAS Briefings available to the public at no charge. All other PFAS Briefings are free ONLY to ELI members; non-members must pay a $25.00 fee to attend any other PFAS Briefing.

PFAS has been found in water systems nationwide, and with an EPA-mandated nationwide testing program for 29 PFAS chemicals now underway, new water suppliers are regularly discovering PFAS contamination in their systems. New drinking water regulations present significant technical, financial and legal challenges for drinking water providers seeking to remediate their systems, and EPA’s recent announcement proposing changes to these same drinking water regulations creates further uncertainty for decision-makers. In this month’s session, we will discuss the shifting legal requirements for PFAS remediation in drinking water as well as the solutions water providers can employ to successfully clean up these contaminants.

Speakers:
Isabel Q. Carey, Senior Associate, Marten Law, Moderator
Steph Tatham, Senior Drinking Water and Water Quality Expert (PFAS), Eastern Research Group
Anthony Budicin, Director of Environmental and Regulatory Compliance, Eastern Municipal Water District
