PFAS have been found in water systems nationwide, and with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s mandated nationwide testing program for 29 PFAS chemicals now underway, new water suppliers are regularly discovering PFAS contamination in their systems. New drinking water regulations present significant technical, financial, and legal challenges for drinking water providers seeking to remediate their systems. In this month’s session, we will discuss the legal requirements for PFAS remediation in drinking water, as well as the solutions water providers can employ to successfully clean up these contaminants.
