Stacey Halliday
Independent Consultant, Beveridge & Diamond, Washington, DC

Drawing on her diverse litigation and regulatory experience in government and private practice, Stacey Halliday advises clients on environmental compliance and corporate social responsibility matters, including product stewardship, sustainability disclosures, and environmental justice. Following her move overseas in August 2019, Stacey founded Global Environmental Solutions Consulting, LLC, and works closely with Beveridge & Diamond as an independent environmental consultant. As a former principal at B&D, Stacey continues to serve the firm’s clients with a broad array of environmental compliance, product stewardship, corporate social responsibility and sustainability services to help clients meet requirements and demand for ethical, sustainable practices - including circular economy, supply chain, and environmental justice initiatives. Stacey is a key member of the firm’s growing corporate environmental justice practice, where she has worked with clients in the energy and technology sectors to develop comprehensive, company-wide environmental justice policies, programs, and implementation frameworks.

Stacey joined B&D in February 2017, immediately following her political appointment as Special Counsel in the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Office of General Counsel (OGC). Stacey was also a senior member of the EPA oversight response team, where she provided legal and strategic guidance on congressional investigation and hearing preparation (including for the EPA Administrator and Deputy Administrator), White House and interagency coordination, and crisis management and strategic communications.

In addition to writing and speaking on environmental justice, sustainability, and product stewardship topics, Stacey holds leadership roles in national environmental and professional organizations. She has been highly involved with the Environmental Law Institute, most recently serving as the Steering Committee Chair of the Environmental Law Institute’s Emerging Leaders Initiative. She serves as Co-Chair of the American Bar Association’s Section on Environment, Energy, and Resources Membership Diversity Enhancement Program. She is also on the Board of DC SAFE, Washington, D.C.’s only 24-hour crisis intervention agency organization for domestic violence victims.

Stacey was born in New York, NY, and raised in the nearby suburb of Oradell, NJ – where her parents still live until this day. She, her husband, their son, and Golden Retriever currently live in Bangkok, Thailand, during the period of her husband’s military tour. She is a proud graduate of the Howard University School of Law and Harvard College.
