Eleanor Crone
Ellie Crone joined the Environmental Law Institute as a Research Associate in July 2025. At ELI, Ellie contributes to the Climate Judiciary Project, the Plastics and Toxics Program, the Indoor Environments Program, and the Mississippi River team. She also supports ELI’s Annual Boot Camp on Environmental Law and assists with ELI's firm alerts.
Before joining ELI, Ellie was an undergraduate research assistant for various projects at the Vanderbilt Drinking Water Justice Lab, including a Tennessee community water system digitization project, a nuclear energy consent-based siting project, and a climate change and health outcomes scoping review. She also worked as a student researcher at the Vanderbilt Climate, Health, and Energy Equity Lab, completed an independent research project on traditional knowledge and climate adaptation policies while studying abroad in Samoa, and graduated with highest honors for her thesis on youth-led climate litigation and intergenerational climate justice. Additionally, Ellie interned at the Center for Climate and Energy Solutions (C2ES) as a Policy and Stakeholder Engagement Intern, where she researched climate policies at the federal, state, and local levels. Ellie is originally from Norfolk, Connecticut, and graduated from Vanderbilt University in May 2025 with a B.A. in Public Policy and Climate Studies and a minor in Earth and Environmental Sciences.
