Chelsea Chen is a senior at Wellesley College studying Sociology with a concentration in Urban Studies and Economics. Starting in June 2021 as a Development Intern for ELI, Chelsea has coordinated ELI Award Dinner invitations to high-level government officials, organized foundation databases, managed ELI memberships, and pursued her own interests in the intersection of urban development and environmental law. Prior to ELI, Chelsea worked as a research assistant in the Wellesley Sociology Department and in MIT SHINE, a research consortium based in the MIT Materials Systems Laboratory. In addition, she interned at BlueHub Capital, a community development finance institution aimed at creating economic equity in marginalized communities. After ELI, Chelsea hopes to further her interests in environmental justice and urban planning through her work and law school.
