An ELI Public Webinar
The extreme weather crisis is no longer a distant threat; severe storms, heatwaves, floods, and wildfires are occurring more frequently and at greater intensities throughout the United States. This is a multidimensional crisis, as infrastructure, health systems, insurance, finance, and existing emergency frameworks often fail to keep up, leaving frontline communities, who are already burdened by inequity, the most impacted. Drexel University’s The Environmental Collaboratory recently released a report that outlines the challenges communities face during extreme weather events and provides actionable guidance for preparedness and recovery.
Join us for a conversation with the lead author of the report and two state environmental commissioners that will focus on moving beyond fragmented, reactive systems toward coordinated, just, and resilient preparedness. Speakers will discuss how to cultivate resilience and center the voices closest to the risks of increasingly severe weather.
