The NJSEA is charged with promoting economic development and preserving the environment. Its jurisdiction encompasses parts of fourteen municipalities within the counties of Bergen and Hudson. The NJSEA oversees the New Jersey Meadowlands Commission (see http://nepis.epa.gov/Exe/ZyPURL.cgi?Dockey=P1000XXQ.txt for details on their completed EPA Pilot). They also run the Meadowlands Environment Center, which provides an outdoor educational and training space in environmental health and restoration.
