An ELI Member Webinar

Join the Environmental Law Institute and Latham & Watkins LLP for a webinar series on environmental justice litigation. This series will take a deep look at the evolution of environmental justice within the legal system of the United States, as well as the creative ways attorneys have used environmental and civil rights laws to advocate on behalf of environmental justice communities.

In this third and final part of the series, our expert panelists will discuss environmental justice litigation strategies and give an overview of the newest cases. What are some recent success stories in the field of environmental justice? Our experts will take a look at three specific cases from the past few years that have had tremendous impacts on environmental justice litigation. How can smaller environmental networks have a political influence? Have the terms “climate” and “environmental justice” been co-opted to suit the needs of other communities, and if so, what must be done to prevent that in courts? Join ELI, Latham & Watkins LLP, and our expert panelists to discuss these questions and so much more.

Panelists:
Robin Hulshizer, Partner, Latham & Watkins LLP, Moderator
Scott Badenoch, Visiting Attorney, Environmental Law Institute
Taylor Lilley, Environmental Justice Staff Attorney, Chesapeake Bay Foundation
