Substantial redevelopment throughout Detroit has been supported by Brownfield incentives under the Detroit Brownfield Redevelopment Authority. Eligible projects for funding include baseline environmental assessments and remediation, demolition, lead and asbestos abatement, site preparation, and public infrastructure improvements. Since the program’s inception, the DBRA has facilitated the approval of over 198 plans for Brownfield redevelopment including residential, mixed-use, retail, office and commercial uses. DBRA works under the Detroit Economic Growth Corporation.
