CLF, founded in 1966, works to solve the environmental problems that threaten the people, natural resources, and communities of New England. CLF's advocates use law, economics, and science to design and implement strategies that conserve natural resources, protect public health, and promote vital communities in the region. CLF Services, an affiliate of the Conservation Law Foundation, provides assistance with project management, project financing, environmental engineering, political troubleshooting, strategic planning, and community organizing relating to brownfields redevelopment.
The Foundation has advocacy centers in four other New England cities: Portland, ME, Concord, NH, Providence, RI, and Montepelier, VT.
