Back by popular demand, the annual review of the year’s most significant NY judicial, regulatory and administrative developments by leading practitioners and professors of environmental law hosted by the Environmental Law Institute (Washington, DC) and the Environmental Law Committee of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York. This 2004 edition of “New York Environmental Law — Year in Review” took place on May 12 at the City Bar’s convenient Midtown location.

Panelists Michael B. Gerrard (Arnold & Porter), Scott N. Fein (Whiteman Osterman & Hanna), James Ferreira (General Counsel, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation), and Philip Weinberg (St. John’s University School of Law), covered the past year’s important developments in NY law and highlight emerging developments in SEQRA, pollution control, hazardous waste and oil spill liability, wetlands regulation, brownfields redevelopment, regulatory takings, and land use planning.
