The Honorable Henry M. Paulson, Jr. to Receive ELI Environmental Achievement Award


(Washington, DC) — The Environmental Law Institute (ELI) is pleased to announce that it will present its 2016 Environmental Achievement Award to The Honorable Henry M. Paulson, Jr. for his visionary leadership over decades to forge an enduring U.S.- China relationship to enhance environmental protection, reduce greenhouse gases, and build a sustainable future for our planet. ELI will present the award on Tuesday, October 25th, 2016, at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C.


National Academy of Sciences’ book on graywater and stormwater use features ELI authors

Analyses by ELI’s Visiting Attorney Amy Streitwieser and Senior Attorney and Western Water Program Director Adam Schempp were featured in a new book by the National Academy of Sciences: Using Graywater and Stormwater to Enhance Local Water Supplies: An Assessment of Risks, Costs, and Benefit.


Appointment of New ELI Vice President for Programs and Publications

We are pleased to announce that John (Jay) Pendergrass has been selected as ELI’s new Vice President for Programs and Publications. In 2015, ELI’s long-time Vice President for Research and Policy, Elissa Parker, transitioned from her post to be a Senior Advisor in Research and Policy, and in December 2015, Executive Vice President, Scott Schang, who had led the Publications and Associates programs for ten years, stepped down to become a Visiting Scholar.
