"Sustainability and the U.S. EPA:" the National Research Council's Report

In September, 2011, an ad hoc committee of the National Research Council officially released its report Sustainability and the U.S. EPA. This report, requested by the EPA, offers a framework to guide the agency as it incorporates sustainability in all of its activities and decision making. Experts examined the report’s practical implications for practitioners assisting clients with regulatory implementation. The panel also addressed legal implications for the scope of agency discretion in issuing rules and regulatory interpretation, and potential conflicts among various statutory requirements.
