Settling CWA defendants responsible for NPDES violations at 18 ready-mix concrete facilities in Puerto Rico must pay a $360,000 civil penalty, must implement a supplemental environmental project, which involves donating for conservation 401 acres of land valued at approximately $2.36 million, and must implement comprehensive injunctive relief at a cost of approximately $1.8 million.
EPA, in response to a citizen petition submitted under TSCA §21, issued an advanced notice of proposed rulemaking and initiated a public participation process to seek comment on the information that should be reported or disclosed for hydraulic fracturing chemical substances and mixtures and the mechanism for obtaining this information.
