This law creates a school construction standards committee for the purpose of developing a “comprehensive proposal to incorporate high performance school design and construction standards into Vermont school construction projects.” The committee consists of representatives of the state agencies on education, public services and general services, as well as representatives of the Vermont Energy Investment Corporation, the state superintendents’ association, and the state chapter of the American Institute of Architects. The law directs the committee to begin meeting in July 2006 and to report its recommendations to the state legislature by January 2007.
