Hawaii

Citation: Hawaii Revised Statutes §196-9 (2006 Hawaii House Bill 2175)
Effective: July 2006
Available: HERE

This law establishes the goal that all state agencies, including the Department of Education, shall design and construct buildings to meet the LEED Silver standard, the Green Globes two-globe standard, or another comparable standard approved by the state. The law directs state agencies to implement these goals “to the extent possible” in planning and budget preparation and program implementation.
