Developments in State Policy

Florida

Citation: Florida Statutes § 255.2575
Effective: July 2008
Available: HERE

This law requires all school district buildings in the state to be constructed to meet the LEED, Green Globes, or Florida Green Building Coalition standard or another nationally-recognized standard approved by the state. The Florida Department of Education has published Green Design Guidelines that affirm the law’s requirements and describe briefly the three green building standards established in the law.
