Profile

Jordan Diamond, Staff Attorney and Deputy Director of the Ocean Program, has worked with the Institute since 2008. She works on ocean and coastal law and policy and international environmental law, as well as matters related to domestic energy and redevelopment policy. Recent focal areas include supporting public participation in the Deepwater Horizon natural resource damage assessment process; supporting Alaska Native communities’ engagement in Arctic coastal and marine spatial planning (CMSP); the development and implementation of the U.S. federal CMSP framework; fisheries compliance and enforcement; comparing US and Mexico habitat conservation and restoration laws, policies, and programs; support for international climate change adaptation; and protecting the environment during armed conflict.

Ms. Diamond holds a J.D. with a certification of specialization in environmental law from the University of California, Berkeley, where she was a research associate for the Law of the Sea Institute and the managing editor of Ecology Law Quarterly. She obtained her B.A. in earth and environmental sciences from Wesleyan University.
