Position Description
Individual Giving Manager
The Environmental Law Institute (ELI) is seeking applications for an Individual Giving Manager for its development office. For three decades, ELI has played a pivotal role in environmental law, policy, and management, domestically and abroad. Today, ELI is an internationally recognized, independent research and education center.
Reporting to ELI's Vice President for Development and working closely with the President, donors and other Institute staff, the Individual Giving Manager will coordinate and implement this growing component of the Institute's fund-raising program.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate and manage all aspects of the Institute's major individual donor effort, including prospecting, quarterly newsletter and other communication, acknowledgement, stewardship, database management (through eTapestry fund-raising software) and small scale major donor events.
Assist with the Institute's annual Award Dinner including solicitation, pledge tracking, event logistics and volunteer coordination.
Skills and Qualifications:
- BA or BS degree; minimum of two years development experience in a non-profit organization preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong development writing experience.
- Experience with advanced fund-raising software.
- Strong planning and organizational skills, ability to manage multiple tasks.
- A "can do" attitude and a willingness to pitch in where needed.
- Strong commitment to ELI's mission and programs (familiarity with environmental issues a plus).
